The group of Chungdokwan Taekwondo clubs organised by Master David Jordinson are no longer member clubs of the BTCB.

The implications for the club members and instructors of this decision are:

(1)

BTCB membership is revoked.

(2)

BTCB/BTC personal accident and club liability insurance, which form part of the BTCB membership, are voided.

(3)

BTC Registered Instructor status and certificates including CRB check are revoked and must not be used.

(4)

The members cannot participate in BTCB events such as local competitions, the British National championships, British Open International Championships and British Poomsae championships or any official events run by the WTF or its member national federations.

(5)

Any qualifications obtained as part of a Kup Grading will not be recognised by any association within the BTCB.

Should any student remain a part of Chungdokwan Taekwondo or any other association outside of the BTCB it is important to establish:

(1)

The student is adequately insured against personal accident by virtue of an appropriate insurance policy.  Full details of this insurance should be provided by the club to the student.

(2)

The instructor is properly and adequately qualified, insured and CRB checked to instruct Taekwondo.  Full details of this insurance and the appropriate qualifications should be provided by the club instructor to the student.

It is important for Taekwondo clubs to be in membership of the BTCB for several reasons:

(1)

They are in membership of the National Governing Body for WTF Taekwondo and the largest WTF Taekwondo organisation in the UK.

(2)

Its members have access to the excellent training facilities and technical support that go with being a funded Olympic sport.

(3)

Its members have an opportunity to take part in the Olympic selection process.

(4)

Its members have access to WTF events both nationally and worldwide.

Please note this decision only applies to the group of Chungdokwan Taekwondo clubs organised by Master David Jordinson.  It does not apply to Chungdokwan Great Britain, who are part of the worldwide association of Chungdokwan and who remain an active part of the BTCB.
