Chungdokwan Open 2008
Posted by mofokiss<center><IMG src= on Tuesday, December 04 @ 15:04:16 GMT (180 reads)

Chungdokwan Taekwondo will again be hosting the Chungdokwan Open Championships at Newton Aycliffe Leisure Centre on Sunday 22nd June 2008.

As you are aware, our team have assisted at many competitions throughout the UK. We would like to think that we have been able to run some very good events and expect this event to be run to the same high standard.  We will be running the competition using Taekoplan competition management system and Ringmaster/Budoscore electronic scoring on all rings.  The Leisure Centre itself is able to accommodate 4 full size rings and provide seating for 800 people.

We would like to try and encourage lower grades to compete, and will therefore be running split grade sections for Child, Cadet and Junior males.

May we stress that, due to time constraints, the number of competitors will be limited to 250.  Applications will be dealt with on a first come first served basis and entries WILL be returned once this level is reached.  So please ensure your entries are received by our administration team as early as possible.

We will also be running a small technical event at the same venue, but the two events will not be detrimental to each others programme as they will be in adjoining halls in the same venue.

Should you have any questions whatsoever regarding this event, please feel free to call Brian Tilley at any time on 07900-605905 or e-mail at btilley66@aol.com

We look forward to seeing you and your players on 22nd June 2008!!!.

Windmills 2008
Posted by mofokiss<center><IMG src= on Tuesday, December 04 @ 15:02:27 GMT (214 reads)

Following the success of excursions to the Windmill Open Championships in the last three years, we will again be organising an excursion to the 2008 event which has been expanded to include a TECHNICAL and SPARRING event.

The SPARRING event, THE OPEN WINDMILL CHAMPIONSHIPS 2008, is a Sport Taekwondo event suitable for all grades as there are 3 grade categories in all groups (10 – 7th Kup, 6 – 3rd Kup and 2nd Kup and above), And in all grade categories there are age groups 10-12 years, 13-15 years, 16-17 years, Seniors (18yrs+) and Veterans (35yrs+) – the event will be run on six full sized contest areas with electronic scoring, Taekoplan match management and international referees.

The TECHNICAL event, introduced for the first time in 2007, will include grade separations in Individual, Team and Freestyle Poomse, One Step Sparring, Self Defence and Breaking (individual and team) and participation is expected from some of Europe’s top technical players.

BTCB Class 2/Class 3 Referee's Course
Posted by mofokiss<center><IMG src= on Tuesday, December 04 @ 14:59:24 GMT (146 reads)

BRITISH TAEKWONDO CONTROL BOARD (WTF)

The BTCB Referee Department have arranged a Class 2 Centre Referee/Refresher Course for the weekend of 1st and 2nd March  2008.  In addition, we will be staging a Class 3 Corner Judge Course at the same venue at the same time on the first day of the course (Saturday 1st March 2008).  In addition, from the existing class 2 Referee’s who are attending the refresher course, we will be selecting candidates for the International  Referee Training Programme – it is vital that any existing referee’s that wish to be considered for this programme be in attendance on the course.

The course will take place at The Eden Arms Swallow Hotel, Rushyford, Co. Durham.

As the Class 2 course is more detailed than the Judges course we have arranged the course over two days with ALL candidates staying in a local hotel over night on the Saturday  (we have also given costs should anyone wish to arrive at the hotel on Friday evening.  Candidates for the class 3 course may of course stay at the hotel on either Friday or Saturday nights, but is not compulsory.
